Disposable Filter
Cartridges Flo King offers a variety of disposable filter cartridges, as outlined below. These cartridges are inserted directly into the Flo King pump and are properly disposed of after a single use (when clogged). These cartridges are used principally for the removal of dirt, particulates and other solids visible to the naked eye. They will not remove dissolved metals. Size: Outside Diameter, 2-1/2" (6.35 cm); hole diameter, 1" (2.5
cm); lengths, 4, 6, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 & 50" (10, 15, 25, 38, 50, 75, 100,
& 127 cm). Poly-Spun is our highest-quality and most popular disposable cartridge. It
is especially recommended for the removal of fine to moderate-size particles. Poly-Spun is
made from continuous-spun, thermally bonded polypropylene fibers. It typically captures
large particles on the exterior and progressively finer particles deep inside the filter,
where the filter fibers are more densely packed. Our FK50 and FK20 cartridges provide
outstanding filtration for most metal finishing applications up to 200 F (93 C) while
preserving the high flow rate and resulting agitation of the Flo King filter system.
Poly-Spun filters contain no resins, binders, lubricants or anti-static agents to leach

Size: Outside Diameter, 2-1/2" (6.35 cm); hole diameter, 1" (2.5
cm); lengths, 10, 20 & 30" (25, 50 & 75 cm). If disposable filter
cartridges are being used but are clogging too quickly, Poly-Wound is a candidate. This
cartridge is offered in 100, 200 and 400 microns for coarse filtration of tanks that
generate considerable solids. These include many cleaners, iron phosphate baths, plating
solutions producing high-volume precipitates, and other applications involving sludgy,
pasty or large residues. Poly-Wound provides long service life and reduces the frequency
of filter changes. It does not
require a pre-wash because it contains no extractables to contaminate the solution.
Poly-Wound is
effective in most solutions to 200 F.JUMBO Poly-Wound Disposable Filter Cartridge  Cartridge
Size: Outside Diameter, 4" (10 cm); hole diameter, 1" (2.5 cm);
lengths, 10 and 20" (25 & 50 cm). This is the same as the
standard Poly-Wound but larger diameter to substantially increase the solids-holding
capacity. It is ideal for large tanks, high-throughput operations or just to further
prolong the time between filter changes. Jumbo Poly-Wound features a 2-1/2"-diameter
Adapter Head for mounting directly to the Flo King pump. Or, to use two Jumbo cartridges
at once, use the Extended Double Cartridge Holder shown on Bulletin 18 in our catalog.
Available in 100, 200 and 400 micron. Like the standard Poly-Wound, the Jumbo is wound in
single, continuous lengths using a diamond pattern that maintains uniform micron retention
throughout the entire length of the cartridge.JUMBO Poly-Spun Disposable Filter Cartridge  Cartridge
Size: Outside Diameter, 4-1/2" (11.5 cm); hole diameter, 1" (2.5
cm); lengths, 10 & 20" (25 & 50 cm). The Jumbo Poly-Spun is similar to
the standard Poly-Spun but with the following distinctions: (1) it is 4-1/2"
diameter; (2) it features an Adapter Head for mounting to the Flo King pump or Extended
Double Cartridge Holder; and (3) it offers true graded-density filtration. Each cartridge
contains two distinct micron layers--75 to 25, 50 to 5, or 25 to 1. The outer layer
removes large particles that would ordinarily blind the inner layer. The result is very
high particulate penetration and exceptional solids-holding capacity. Jumbo Poly-Spun is
recommended for fine filtration and to extend the time between filter changes.
